LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Jean Stasia (Pierce) Baker,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of her community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Jean Stasia (Pierce) Baker of Port Crane, New York, died on
Tuesday May 20, 2014, at the age of 70; and
WHEREAS, Employed by the Town of Fenton for over 31 years, Jean Baker
distinguished herself in her profession and by her sincere dedication
and substantial contribution to the welfare of her community; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth (Robertson) Pierce,
and in-law, Daneth (Baker) Brown, Jean Baker is survived by her beloved
husband, David; her children, Scott, Lisa, Joel, Seth and Lindsay,
Rachel and David Thienes, Jared and Crystal, Rebekah; grandchildren,
Sophia, Lily, Caroline, Caleb, and Levi; siblings Marie (Pierce) Dowding
and Alan Pierce; and in-laws, Mary Beth (Baker) Bensen, Bert Baker,
Reverend Richard Brown, and Doug Dowding, as well as several nieces,
nephews and cousins; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Jean Stasia (Pierce) Baker leaves behind a legacy which will
long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory
to all she served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Jean Stasia (Pierce) Baker, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution; suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Jean Stasia (Pierce) Baker.
