LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Coach Chad Lakeman of Middletown
High School upon the occasion of his selection as 2014 U.S. Lacrosse
Assistant Coach of the Year
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those nota-
ble educators and athletic coaches within our midst who serve the youth
of this great Empire State and who have distinguished themselves and
their schools through their exemplary athletic achievements and their
outstanding commitment to education; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
congratulate Chad Lakeman of Middletown High School upon the occasion of
his selection as 2014 U.S. Lacrosse Assistant Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, US Lacrosse is the national governing body of men's and
women's lacrosse, primarily serving the youth game; it provides a lead-
ership role in virtually every aspect of the game, boasts 67 chapters
throughout the United States, and offers programs and services to
inspire participation while protecting the integrity of the sport; and
WHEREAS, The US Lacrosse Men's Game All-American Awards recognizes
those players and coaches who have displayed outstanding ability and an
exemplary commitment to being the best in their sport; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of SUNY Cortland, Chad Lakeman has ably performed
the duties of Assistant Coach in charge of defense for the Middletown
High School Boys' Lacrosse Team; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man has done a superb job in guiding, molding
and inspiring his team members toward their goals, and has consequently
been recognized for special honor; and
WHEREAS, Coach Chad Lakeman's positive attitude, selfless commitment,
goal-oriented and balanced approach to instruction, on top of his genu-
ine concern for his students have contributed to his enduring success as
a coach and mentor at Middletown High School, earning him the just
respect of his community and the State of New York; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Coach Chad Lakeman of Middletown High School upon the occa-
sion of his selection as 2014 U.S. Lacrosse Assistant Coach of the Year;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Coach Chad Lakeman.
