LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 35th Anniversary of Greystone
Programs
WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the quality
of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-
worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, From time to time, society calls upon these individuals and
organizations to be recognized for the significance of their contrib-
utions and efforts to assist others in developing the skills necessary
to be successful, productive citizens; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 35th
Anniversary of Greystone Programs; and
WHEREAS, Based in Poughkeepsie, New York, Greystone Programs is a
privately-run nonprofit organization that provides essential services
and life-enriching opportunities to more than 500 children, adults, and
families with Autism and other developmental disabilities in the Hudson
Valley region of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Greystone Programs is a community leader in the field of
advocacy and services for people and families living with Autism and
other developmental disabilities through improved cooperation and part-
nerships; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary organization broadens service delivery by
increasing opportunities for individuals and families living with Autism
and other developmental disabilities; it seeks new opportunities and
creates innovative programs through the exploration of new and diverse
funding sources, increased fundraising revenues, and continued improve-
ment of the business decision-making process; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Greystone Programs optimizes the agency's
infrastructure through continually evaluating and enhancing systems,
facilities and technology to effectively support organizational goals;
and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Chief Executive Officer,
Catherine Doyle, Greystone Programs provides housing and services in
five counties of the Hudson Valley Region of New York State, and
currently operates 13 residential group homes in Ulster, Dutchess, and
Orange Counties; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Greystone Programs offers community based, non-
residential programs, which include day habilitation, Medicaid Service
Coordination, in-home behavior therapy, after school and school break
programs, respite, social skills training, and Bridges to Health in
Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Ulster, and Columbia Counties; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Greystone Programs; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Greystone Programs, Poughkeepsie, New York.
