LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Maggie Gephard for her many years of
distinguished service to Greystone Inc.

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Maggie Gephard
for her service to community organizations throughout the Hudson Valley;
and
WHEREAS, Maggie Gephard is a retired vice-president and general manag-
er of Liquorama Wine Cellars, in Hyde Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Liquorama Wine Cellars is a progressive award winning wine
shop in the Hudson Valley, which has provided residents of the Hudson
Valley with a variety of wines and liquors; and
WHEREAS, Maggie Gephard has made contributions to the field of wine
through her work with Mid-Hudson Food and Wine, Dame de la Chaine-Confr-
erie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs, It was a Good Year wine group, Ameri-
can Express Taste of the Nation, the "Lets Live" Auction Advisory Board,
and Zinfandel Advocates and Producers Associated; and
WHEREAS, Maggie Gephard is a member of the National Women's Business
Institute, a past PTA president, and a past Girl Scout leader and Cub
Scout Den Mother; and
WHEREAS, Maggie Gephard has enhanced the community of the Hudson
Valley through her volunteer work with hospitals, cultural clubs, and
her occupational therapy work with autistic and muscular dystrophy chil-
dren; and
WHEREAS, Maggie Gephard has contributed to the education of her commu-
nity by teaching adult education classes in the fields of home econom-
ics, wine studies, and glassblowing; and
WHEREAS, In 1989, Maggie Gephard founded Greystone Programs' Annual
International Wine Showcase and Auction, and is a Wine Chairman of this
event; and
WHEREAS, Greystone Programs' Annual International Wine Showcase and
Auction has chosen to honor Maggie Gephard on the occasion of its Silver
Anniversary Celebration, to take place on September 14th at The Grand-
view, in Poughkeepsie, New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Maggie Gephard for her service to the Hudson Valley, and for her
selection to be honored by Greystone Programs' Annual International Wine
Showcase and Auction on the occasion of its Silver Anniversary Cele-
bration; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Maggie Gephard.
