LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medi-
cine and the Family Health Care Center at Uniondale upon the occasion of
its Open House Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, May 30, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality of life in the communities across this great State of New York
is enriched by the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions of distinction whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of
others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Family Health Care
Center at Uniondale upon the occasion of its Open House Ribbon Cutting
Ceremony which was held Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Family Health Care
Center at Uniondale in Uniondale, New York; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of this auspicious event, this Legislative
Body is pleased to pay just tribute to Wolfgang Gilliar, D.O., Dean,
NYIT of Osteopathic Medicine; Barbara Ross-Lee, D.O., Vice President,
NYIT of Osteopathic Medicine; Ron Manning, Associate Dean of Clinical
Services and Facilities, NYIT and Dr. Leonard Benedict and staff; and
WHEREAS, During the Open House Ribbon Cutting Gala, the Family Health
Care Center at Uniondale celebrated its tremendous success and featured
presentations by NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine leaders, local and
state elected officials, and a range of esteemed guests affiliated with
this community; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and
the Family Health Care Center at Uniondale is to provide breast health
services, family medicine, gynecology and osteopathic manipulation; and
WHEREAS, NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine is expanding its commu-
nity clinical care services with the opening of a healthcare center in
Uniondale; the new center, which opened in October 2013, is the former
practice location of Dr. L. Ade Benedict, a gynecology practice, who is
an Associate Professor and Chair of the NYIT's Division of
Obstetrics/Gynecology with the Department of Medicine; and
WHEREAS, Our community health centers serve the vital purpose of
providing for the healthcare needs of our citizens through excellence in
the delivery of medical services; and
WHEREAS, The NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Family
Health Care Center at Uniondale, and its expert staff, has had a long
and sustained commitment to the health and welfare of its unique and
diverse community and therefore merits the highest commendation of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the
NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Family Health Care Center
at Uniondale upon the occasion of its Open House Ribbon Cutting Ceremo-
ny, May 30, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Leonard Ade Benedict, the NYIT College of Osteopathic
Medicine, and the Family Health Care Center at Uniondale.
