LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Madison Carroll upon the occasion of her
designation as a recipient of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior
Scholar Athlete Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Madison
Carroll upon the occasion of her designation as a recipient of the 2014
Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, which was cele-
brated on May 28, 2014, at its 16th Annual Recognition Breakfast; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Madison Carroll has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Madison Carroll, a student at New Paltz High School in New
Paltz, New York, is ranked 8th in her class, and has participated in
various sports including Varsity Swim for four years, Varsity Spring
Track for four years, and Varsity Basketball for three years; and
WHEREAS, Vice President of her Senior Class, Madison Carroll is
involved in National Honor Society, and Student Government; and
WHEREAS, Madison Carroll plans to attend Vassar College, major in
biology, and swim; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Madison Carroll
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Madison Carroll may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Madison Carroll represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Madison Carroll upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2014 Mid-Hudson Athletic League Senior Scholar Athlete Award, and
to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Madison Carroll.
