LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Adeline Bodnaruik upon the occasion of
her designation as the 2014 Sullivan County Dairy Princess

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
those young people who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, The agricultural industry of the State of New York is highly
benefited by the active promotion of farming endeavors and agricultural
products; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Adeline Bodna-
ruik upon the occasion of her designation as the 2014 Sullivan County
Dairy Princess, celebrated at its 50th Annual Dairy Princess Pageant on
Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Rockland House, Roscoe, New York; and
WHEREAS, Eldred High School junior, Adeline Bodnaruik began her
involvement in the Sullivan County Dairy Promotion Court eight years ago
in 2006; and
WHEREAS, With a growing passion and love of farming, Adeline Bodnaruik
is an advocate for the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, a partnership between
the American Dairy Association and the NFL to fight childhood obesity; a
soccer and softball player at Eldred High School, she understands the
importance of nutrition and exercise; and
WHEREAS, As the 2014 Sullivan County Dairy Princess, Adeline Bodnaruik
will strive to promote the dairy industry during a time when the number
of dairy farms in the county is dwindling; she was sponsored by Craig
Luckey of AshLuck Farms, and now serves in the Dairy Promotion Court
with three dairy ambassadors and four milk maids; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual which Adeline Bodnaruik has demonstrated in achieving the title of
2014 Sullivan County Dairy Princess; she has stood constant in dignity,
good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Adeline Bodnaruik exemplifies the best potential inherent in
our most precious resource, our youth; she has brought enduring honor to
her family, local community and to the State of New York, and should be
recognized and saluted; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Adeline Bodnaruik upon the occasion of her designation as the 2014
Sullivan County Dairy Princess; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Adeline Bodnaruik.
