LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Military and Law Enforcement
Veterans Association upon the occasion of hosting its Veterans Breakfast
on June 20, 2014

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great
State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works
of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate their
lives and careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Military and Law Enforcement Veterans Association upon the occasion
of hosting its Veterans Breakfast on Friday, June 20, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 2013, the Military and Law Enforcement Veterans
Association (MILEVA) is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and
productivity of veterans by developing educational and food distribution
programs; it also promotes the value of Veterans and their numerous
skills to business, the media, government entities, and the public; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed organization consists of military personnel,
veterans and law enforcement officers, as well as civilians dedicated to
helping veterans reacquaint to their new civilian lives, while giving
back to the overall community; and
WHEREAS, Committed to helping those in need, MILEVA works to provide
aid and relief in order to eradicate chronic malnutrition on a local and
global level; in addition, the group educates the public on this impor-
tant issue by giving free lectures and slideshows titled "The World
Hunger Exhibition"; and
WHEREAS, MILEVA's numerous initiatives include sending out ambassadors
to raise social consciousness and holding fundraising events which seek
to offer immediate relief and assistance to those suffering from chronic
malnutrition and hunger regardless of their race, ethnicity, or reli-
gion; and
WHEREAS, Having exhibited their patriotism both at home and abroad,
these men and women continue to demonstrate their love for their country
and merit the highest respect of their State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and associations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought
to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the
citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Military and Law Enforcement Veterans Association upon the
occasion of hosting its Veterans Breakfast; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Military and Law Enforcement Veterans Association.
