LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jamie Enwright upon the occasion of her
designation as the recipient of a 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for
Excellence in Classified Service

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of life in the great State of
New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jamie Enwright upon the occasion of her designation as the recipient of
a 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service; and
WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service
recognizes superior performance and extraordinary achievement by employ-
ees in the SUNY system Classified Service; this award demonstrates the
University's commitment to individuals who provide superior service to
its students and the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Jamie Enwright has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, For over 20 years, Jamie Enwright has provided outstanding
service as a member of the SUNY Oswego University Police Staff; and
WHEREAS, In 1997, Jamie Enwright received national recognition for her
handling of a medical call which saved a student's life; she was honored
with the SUNY Police Chiefs Acts of Professionalism Award; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman became her department's first public
safety officer, and was responsible for communications and dispatching;
in addition, she performs the duties of administrative assistant and
compiles the department's annual report to the college community; and
WHEREAS, Jamie Enwright also serves the college as a member of the
Employee Recognition Committee and as her department's representative
for the State Employees Federated Appeal; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jamie Enwright has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which this remarkable woman has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jamie Enwright upon the occasion of her designation as the recipi-
ent of a 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified
Service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jamie Enwright.
