LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Marshall Trabout, MD upon the occasion
of being named a 2014 honoree by the Cayuga Community Health Network at
its Mind, Body and Spirit Luncheon on June 5, 2014
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Marshall Trabout has given not only of his time and ener-
gies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Marshall
Trabout, MD upon the occasion of being named a 2014 honoree by the Cayu-
ga Community Health Network at its Mind, Body and Spirit Luncheon on
Thursday, June 5, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Raised in New York City, Dr. Marshall Trabout earned his
Medical degree from SUNY-Health Sciences Center at Syracuse, and
completed his residency at Nassau County Medical Center; in 1976, prior
to earning his Medical degree, he graduated from Case Western Reserve
University, as well as Upstate Medical Center in 1987; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Marshall Trabout came to Aurora, New York 32 years ago
and established his practice, The Community Medical Center, at Wells
College; he retired from this practice in December of 2013; and
WHEREAS, With more than three decades of experience practicing Inter-
nal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Practice, and Psychiatry, Dr.
Marshall Trabout gave selflessly of himself over the years; he provided
a much needed service in the southern end of Cayuga County, and was
instrumental in bringing many other physicians and medical practitioners
to this underserved rural region; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Dr. Trabout opened a satellite clinic in Mora-
via, New York which continues to serve patients on a daily basis; he
also served as the Medical Director for New York State prisons, as well
as a number of area schools and nursing homes; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Marshall Trabout is associated with Community General
Hospital of Greater Syracuse, Auburn Memorial Hospital, and Tompkins
Community Hospital; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated and caring physician, Dr. Marshall Trabout went
above and beyond the call of duty, making home visits to his patients
when necessary; and
WHEREAS, In addition to treatments at his office, Dr. Marshall Trabout
has served as the school physician at the Southern Cayuga School
District and the resident physician at the bottling plant in Auburn; he
worked many long days with late evenings to accommodate his patients'
schedules, and his service to the community is truly immeasurable; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Dr. Marshall Trabout has served his
patients with compassion and care; he has contributed to the maintenance
and enhancement of the highest professional standards, sharing with
others his knowledge and expertise, as well as his dedication and
commitment to quality health care; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 34 years, Carin,
and their two children, Sarah and Josh, all of whom feel privileged to
be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dr. Marshall Trabout has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marshall Trabout, MD upon the occasion of being named a 2014 hono-
ree by the Cayuga Community Health Network at its Mind, Body and Spirit
Luncheon on June 5, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marshall Trabout, MD.
