LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brewery Ommegang upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the 2014 NBT Bank Distinguished Business
of the Year Award by the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Brewery Ommegang upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the 2014 NBT Bank Distinguished Business of the Year Award by the Otsego
County Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 28th Annual NBT
Distinguished Dinner and Celebration of Business on Friday, March 28,
2014, at SUNY Oneonta's Hunt Union Ballroom, Oneonta, New York; and
WHEREAS, Brewery Ommegang is a homegrown business in Cooperstown, New
York, built from the ground up; founded on the site of a former hop farm
in upstate New York, Brewery Ommegang is America's most unique micro-
brewery, and a magical place where brewing is an art and partaking is a
passion; and
WHEREAS, Woven into the fabric of its community, Brewery Ommegang is
recognized across America, and is a tribute to the entire region; and
WHEREAS, The success of Brewery Ommegang is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its administration and staff, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeav-
ors on behalf of the business and the population it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges Brewery Ommegang's success, recognizes its contributions to the
local and state economies, and extends its highest commendation to the
corporation and its employees, fully confident that, in its future, it
will enjoy the same success which has so characterized its past; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brewery Ommegang upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2014 NBT Bank Distinguished Business of the Year Award by the
Otsego County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Simon Thorpe, president and CEO, Brewery Ommegang.
