LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mill Services, Inc. upon the occasion of
its designation by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce as the
recipient of its 2013 Business of the Year Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the achievements of individuals, organizations, and businesses
which contribute substantially to the economic health and vitality of
the communities of the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mill
Services, Inc., Cobleskill, New York, upon the occasion of its desig-
nation by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of
its 2013 Business of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the chamber's
Annual Awards Banquet, to be held on Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Best
Western Banquet Room, Cobleskill, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to the
cooperative efforts of the business and residential community in
preserving the quality, character, and vitality of business in the Coun-
ty of Schoharie and, each year, proudly honors those in the community,
such as Mill Services, Inc., which helps to further these goals; and
WHEREAS, Mill Services was established in 1993 in Cobleskill, New
York, by Carl Dennis of Brattleboro, Vermont; and
WHEREAS, In 2007, Mill Services was purchased by Eastern Forest
Products, a wholesale lumber distributor based in Lyndeborough, New
Hampshire; and
WHEREAS, From its New York plant, Mill Services remanufacture locally
grown and harvested lumber into finger joint trim boards for Eastern
brand and custom clients; by utilizing local vendors, this extraordinary
company truly supports the Cobleskill community it so ably serves; and
WHEREAS, Today, under the luminous direction of Dan Holt and Jamie
Place, Mill Services is the largest producer of Eastern White Pine
finger joint boards in the northeastern United States; and
WHEREAS, With a capacity to manufacture up to 750,000 board feet per
month, Mill Services produces over ten million feet a year, and deliver
to customers all over the United States; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges Mill Services' success, recognizes its contributions to the local
and State economies, and extends its highest commendation to the corpo-
ration and its employees, fully confident that, in its future, it will
enjoy the same success which has so characterized its past; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when busi-
nesses of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mill Services, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation by the
Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of its 2013 Busi-
ness of the Year Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mill Services, Inc.
