LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Thomas McOlvin upon the occasion of
his retirement after 37 years of distinguished service to the Sagamore
Children's Psychiatric Center

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals who substantially contribute to their
communities and careers through outreach and dedication; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Thomas McOl-
vin upon the occasion of his retirement after 37 years of distinguished
service to the Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center; and
WHEREAS, Thomas McOlvin has had extensive involvement in the mental
health field and completed his exemplary career as Executive Director of
the Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center; and
WHEREAS, Thomas McOlvin exerted a strong, positive influence in this
role and has been an integral part of the New York State Office of
Mental Health; and
WHEREAS, Thomas McOlvin is known for his ability to work with both
youth and adults; he rose through the ranks of the Office of Mental
Health, working effectively and treating each individual according to
their specific needs; and
WHEREAS, Prior to serving as Executive Director of the Sagamore Chil-
dren's Psychiatric Center, Thomas McOlvin began his career as a Mental
Health Therapy Aide at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center, advancing through
Social Work and Residential Manager titles, before becoming a Treatment
Team Leader, Deputy Director, and then Executive Director of the Queens
Psychiatric Center; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body pays
tribute to Thomas McOlvin for his dedication and exceptional work
throughout his career; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Thomas McOlvin upon the occasion of his retirement after 37
years of distinguished service to the Sagamore Children's Psychiatric
Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas McOlvin.
