ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION amending Rule I of the Assembly Rules, in relation
to a vacancy in the office of the Speaker

RESOLVED, That Section 2 of Rule I of the Assembly Rules is amended to
read as follows:
ยบ 2. Vacancy. Whenever a vacancy shall occur in the office of the
Speaker, the Majority Leader shall be the Acting Speaker until the
Assembly [shall re-assemble] ELECTS A SPEAKER, WHICH ELECTION SHALL BE
HELD NO LATER THAN NINETY DAYS AFTER SUCH VACANCY SHALL OCCUR. THE DATE
FOR SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE SET BY RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSE.
