LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Aubrianna Weber upon the occasion
of being named the Reality Check of New York's 2015 Western Region Youth
Advocate of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate and
recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great Nation
and Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Aubrianna Weber, of Olean, New York, upon the occasion of being
named Reality Check of New York's 2015 Western Region Youth Advocate of
the Year; and
WHEREAS, The mission of Reality Check of New York, a statewide teen-
led movement, is the education of peers, parents, legislators, community
members and key decision makers on the tobacco industry's marketing
practices and their efforts to target youth; and
WHEREAS, Reality Check works on four initiatives: Point of Sale,
Tobacco-Free Outdoors, Smoke-Free Multi-Unit Housing and Smoke-Free
Media; and
WHEREAS, Aubrianna Weber is a dedicated member of Reality Check, who
truly believes in the goals of the organization and its mission to make
the community healthier; and
WHEREAS, She is a leader in the Reality Check of Chautauqua, Cattarau-
gus and Allegany Counties program, known for being one of the first
members to a meeting and one of the last to leave; and
WHEREAS, As a member of Reality Check, Aubrianna Weber has attended
many regional training sessions and events; this past February she
participated in International Week of Action; during the event, the
local Western Regional Reality Check groups met with members of the
Smoke-Free Canada program on the Rainbow Bridge to create a live ribbon
in support of having movies with smoking receive an adult "R" rating;
and
WHEREAS, Aubrianna Weber has also participated in many local events
which supports the mission of Reality Check, including the Great Ameri-
can Smokeout, Kick Butts Day, and World No Tobacco Day, to help educate
her community on the issues of tobacco use; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and honor New York State's citizens who are dedicated to the
betterment of their community and healthier lifestyles for residents;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Aubrianna Weber upon the occasion of being name Reality
Check of New York's 2015 Western Region Youth Advocate of the Year; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Aubrianna Weber.
