LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Elvis Duran upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2015 HeartShare Genie Foundation Award
by HeartShare Human Services of New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding radio personalities whose professional lives, personal
endeavors, and community service are an example and inspiration to their
listeners, colleagues, friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Elvis Duran upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2015 HeartShare Genie Foundation Award by HeartShare Human Services of
New York to be celebrated at its Spring Gala and Auction on Thursday,
March 26, 2015, at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City; and
WHEREAS, The mission of HeartShare Human Services of New York is to
nurture and support, with dignity and respect, children, adults, and
families in order to expand opportunities and enhance lives; and
WHEREAS, Elvis Duran is receiving this auspicious award for his
devotion to his profession and sincere dedication and substantial role
as a community leader; he has continuously cast a positive impact on
events and news within his community and displayed an unbridled enthusi-
asm in all his professional and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Elvis Duran considers himself the host of the party on his
national radio show, which is the most listened to Top 40 morning show
in the United States that consistently ranks No. 1 across multiple demo-
graphics and top markets; and
WHEREAS, Broadcasting live from New York's Z100, Elvis Duran and his
air-crew entertain listeners with up-to-the-minute entertainment and pop
culture news, celebrity guests, hit songs, and regular features such as
the gossipy "Sleaze," the news-worthy "Reality Check," and the ever-po-
pular prank "Phone Taps"; and
WHEREAS, Elvis Duran's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity, carries over into all fields of enterprise, including charita-
ble and civic endeavors; he has inspired and enriched the lives of his
listeners, family and friends through his love and respect for others;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Elvis Duran upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2015 HeartShare Genie Foundation Award by HeartShare Human Services
of New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Elvis Duran.
