LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Lee A. McElroy upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Humanitarian Award by the Upstate
Northeastern New York Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of
America

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Lee A. McElroy upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Humanitarian Award by the Upstate Northeastern New York Chapter of
the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America which was celebrated at its
Evening to Remember Gala on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Glen Sanders
Mansion in Scotia, New York; and
WHEREAS, Lee A. McElroy will receive this auspicious award for his
continued support of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America and his
ongoing support to those affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative
colitis; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1957, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America
is a non-profit volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the
cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis; and
WHEREAS, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are painful gastroin-
testinal diseases affecting more than one in 200 children, teens, and
adults in the United States; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America is
to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and improve the quality
of life in children and adults affected by these diseases; and
WHEREAS, Individuals and organizations devoted to improving the quali-
ty of life for others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-
worth are deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Lee A. McElroy upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Humanitarian Award by the Upstate Northeastern New York
Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lee A. McElroy.
