LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Joan Hay upon the occasion of her desig-
nation for special recognition by the Midwood Active Adult Program on
April 17, 2015
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Joan
Hay upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Midwood Active Adult Program at its Annual Volunteer Recognition Cele-
bration on Friday, April 17, 2015, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, This annual event is sponsored by Millennium Development, and
funded by the New York City Department for the Aging; and
WHEREAS, Joan Hay has contributed her time and energies serving as a
volunteer Clerical Assistant, as well as giving piano lessons, for the
Midwood Active Adult Program and has always given of herself unstinting-
ly; and
WHEREAS, Joan Hay, a very active and industrious woman, has inspired
and enriched the lives of her family and friends through her love and
respect for others, generously sharing the wisdom gained over years of
experiencing life to its fullest; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive warmth and devotion to her
community and its citizens which Joan Hay has displayed throughout her
life; and
WHEREAS, Older New Yorkers bring their special wisdom, experience and
enthusiasm to countless endeavors, helping to shape and strengthen the
character of our communities and the quality of our lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and commend those who have witnessed and contributed to the devel-
opments and achievements of our Nation, State, and communities over the
course of their noteworthy lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joan Hay upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion by the Midwood Active Adult Program on April 17, 2015; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joan Hay.
