LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Lawrence Perras, distin-
guished citizen and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence Perras of New Haven, New York, died on Thursday,
September 11, 2014, at the age of 60; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence Perras distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence "Larry" Perras was born in Watertown, New York, on
April 21, 1954; he attended Jefferson County Community College, and
served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1975-1980;
and
WHEREAS, Lawrence Perras later graduated from the University of
Central Florida, and owned and operated a financial accounting business;
in 1992 he relocated to Oswego, New York, and for more than 15 years he
worked as a senior business advisor for the Small Business Development
Center at the State University of New York at Oswego, where he earned
recognition for his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to
the center; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence Perras will long be remembered for his dedication
and hard work on behalf of Oswego County business owners; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence Perras is survived by his loving wife, Teresa, and
two sons, Lawrence Perras II, and Christopher Perras, as well as his
mother, four siblings and three grandchildren; he was predeceased by his
son John, and daughter Elizabeth; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Lawrence Perras leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Lawrence Perras, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Lawrence Perras.
