LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ronald Galiano upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Kings County American Legion
on April 12, 2015

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Galiano has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ronald Galiano
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Kings County American Legion, to be celebrated at its Annual Baseball
Banquet Dinner and Journal on Sunday, April 12, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Galiano has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Born in Ozone Park, New York on May 27, 1943, to Frank and
Margaret Galiano, Ronald Galiano has two older sisters, Lorraine and
Rosanne; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Galiano began his illustrious military career in 1960,
when he enlisted in the United States Navy, spending six years aboard
naval destroyers; upon his honorable discharge, this esteemed man reen-
listed in the Naval Reserves where he served his country with
distinction for 25 years until his retirement; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Ronald Galiano is an avid supporter
of local Breast Cancer and Colon Cancer charities; in addition, he gives
of his time and energy to the American Legion, working tirelessly on its
baseball fields; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Ronald Galiano has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Ronald Galiano has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his loving wife of 51 years,
Rosemary, their two sons, Ronny and Frankie, and their daughter, Gia
Ann, as well as their six grandchildren Ron Carlo, Alexandra, Frankie,
Samantha, Thomas and Jolie Ronni, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ronald Galiano upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Kings County American Legion on April 12, 2015; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ronald Galiano.
