LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring James Geraci upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Kings County American Legion
on April 12, 2015

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, James Geraci has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor James Geraci
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Kings County American Legion, to be celebrated at its Annual Baseball
Banquet Dinner and Journal on Sunday, April 12, 2015; and
WHEREAS, James Geraci has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Brooklyn, New York, James Geraci
served his country with distinction from 1967 to 1973, as a member of
the United States Army with a tour in Vietnam; upon returning home he
attended Kingsborough Community College; and
WHEREAS, James Geraci began his illustrious career in the petroleum
industry as a tractor trailer tanker driver; he presently serves as
Facility Service Officer and Terminal Manager for a petroleum company,
overseeing a storage and distribution facility in the Metropolitan area,
a position he has held for more than 35 years; and
WHEREAS, Active within his community, James Geraci is a member of the
United States Coast Guard Area Security Maritime Committee and the Amer-
ican Legion Amity Post No. 791, where he is currently Post Adjutant and
the County Commander's aide; and
WHEREAS, In addition, with a true passion for helping others, James
Geraci is actively involved in numerous American Legion county activ-
ities and served as Post Commander from 2007 to 2010, as well as Post
Chaplain from 2010 to 2011; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, James Geraci has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which James Geraci has displayed through-
out his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor James Geraci upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Kings County American Legion on April 12, 2015; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to James Geraci.
