LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Janet Chiefari upon the occasion of her
retirement after many years of distinguished service to the Troy Senior
Center

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Janet Chiefari upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of
distinguished service to the Troy Senior Center, which was celebrated at
the Center's Holiday Party on Friday, December 19, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Janet Chiefari has worked diligently as an Information Proc-
essing Specialist with the Rensselaer County Department for the Aging
for the past 19 years; she has worked in both the Department's main
office and the Troy Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman was responsible for keeping the Troy
Senior Center's records and printed materials up-to-date as well as for
inputting new members into the Center's system; in addition, she has
created colorful flyers, and expertly assisted seniors with group activ-
ities such as the Writer's Workshop and the monthly Special Dinner; and
WHEREAS, In 2009, Janet Chiefari worked with her Writer's Workshop
group to compile a small booklet of stories which they shared with
fellow members of the Troy Senior Center; this booklet, entitled A WALK
THROUGH LIFE, was a huge success; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Janet Chiefari was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Janet Chiefari upon the occasion of her retirement after many
years of distinguished service to the Troy Senior Center; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Janet Chiefari.
