LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Scott Levine upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Pride Center of the Capital Region's
Community Service Award celebrated at the 2014 Pride Center Gala

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Scott Levine
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Pride Center of
the Capital Region's Community Service Award celebrated at the 2014
Pride Center Gala, on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Hilton Albany, in
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Pride Center of the Capital Region is dedicated to serv-
ing the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ)
community in the Capital Region; the Pride Center has been meeting their
diverse needs since 1970; and
WHEREAS, The Pride Center holds an annual gala to raise needed funds
for its fundamental youth and senior programs and services; and
WHEREAS, Scott Levine graduated from Shaker High School in Latham, New
York, and earned a degree in Computer Science; and
WHEREAS, Scott Levine was employed as a member of the Data Analysis,
Systems Development, and Project Management department for Empire Blue
Cross & Shield, the Negotiators, Inc., and the Healthcare Association of
New York State; and
WHEREAS, Today, Scott Levine is the Manager of Waterworks Pub, Albany,
New York's largest LGBTQ bar and dance club; he develops the Club's
information technology, marketing, business strategies, event planning,
and daily operations; and
WHEREAS, Scott Levine also volunteers, fundraises, and organizes vari-
ous charity events for the Pride Center, In Our Own Voices, the AIDS
Walk, the Albany Damien Center, and many others; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Scott Levine is the Entertainment Chair of the
Capital Pride Steering Committee; he secured corporate sponsorships and
booked the entertainment for the Capital Pride Festival for nine years;
the event has raised a significant amount of funds and has featured
artists such as Taylor Dayne, Debbie Gibson, Thelma Houston, Tiffany,
CeCe Peniston, and Melissa Etheridge; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Scott Levine upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Pride Center of the Capital Region's Community Service Award cele-
brated at the 2014 Pride Center Gala; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Scott Levine.
