LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Beckes
Optical in Hamburg, New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the achievements of individuals and businesses which contribute
substantially to the economic health and vitality of the communities of
the State of New York, and to their quality of life; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 75th Anniversary of Beckes Optical in Hamburg, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1977, Don Nowicki purchased the Beckes Optical business,
and subsequently re-located to its current location on Pine Street, in
Hamburg; since then, his devoted clients have relied on him for visual
and aural sensory improvements; and
WHEREAS, Beckes Optical offers frames, goggles, contact lenses, hear-
ing aids, and exams to its longtime customers; Don Nowicki specializes
in contact lens and hearing aids, using state-of-the-art technology to
provide efficient and quality service; and
WHEREAS, Don Nowicki proudly acknowledges the craftsmanship and prob-
lem-solving skills of his opticians, Ken Finnegan and Jerry Krug, as
well as the competence and friendliness of his Office Manager, Paulina
Furnell; and
WHEREAS, Committed to serving his community and his customers, Don
Nowicki and his staff keep up with changes in their profession and stay
current with changing frame and lens styles; they listen to their
customers and bring in the products that they want; and
WHEREAS, Businesses and their owners, such as Don Nowicki, exert a
strong, positive influence on the communities they serve and are an
essential component of the economies and communities of the State of New
York, and of their quality of life; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions, fully confident
Don Nowicki and his staff will continue to enjoy the success they have
worked so hard to achieve; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Beckes Optical in Hamburg, New York,
and to applaud Don Nowicki for his outstanding service and commitment to
his clients and his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Don Nowicki, Beckes Optical.
