LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dominick Sarta upon the occasion of
being named a 2015 Gala Honoree by the Federation of Italian American
Organizations of Brooklyn

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dominick Sarta has given not only of his time and energy but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dominick Sarta
upon the occasion of being named a 2015 Gala Honoree by the Federation
of Italian American Organizations of Brooklyn, to be celebrated at its
38th Annual Fundraising Gala on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at El Caribe
Country Club in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dominick Sarta has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dominick Sarta gradu-
ated from Xaverian High School in 1993, before receiving his Associate's
degree in Architecture from the College of Staten Island; he went on to
earn a Bachelor's degree from the City College of New York in 1998; and
WHEREAS, Upon the completion of his education, Dominick Sarta began a
building/contracting business while still managing his father's struc-
tural steel company, Gino Iron Works, which he eventually took over; and
WHEREAS, In August of 2008, Dominick Sarta expanded his business
ventures; he obtained his Real Estate License, and along with his wife,
brother, sister and brother-in-law, he opened up Sarta Realty; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast commitment to his community, Dominick Sarta
is involved in countless local fundraisers and events; he was elected as
co-president of the Thirteenth Avenue Merchants Association in 2012, and
has been instrumental in its growth, organizing such events as the
Christmas Tree Lighting, Easter Egg Hunt and a Halloween Walk to raise
funds for Hurricane Sandy victims; and
WHEREAS, Dominick Sarta currently serves as Committee Chair of the
Thirteenth Avenue Business Improvement District Steering Committee, and
is a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Cavallaro Council,
in Bensonhurst; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dominick Sarta has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Dominick Sarta has displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his loving wife, Maria, and
their two beautiful sons, Gino and Salvatore, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dominick Sarta upon the occasion of being named a 2015 Gala Hono-
ree by the Federation of Italian American Organizations of Brooklyn, and
to wish him continued success in all of his future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dominick Sarta.
