LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Michael Fleming upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Constance E. Miller Award of Excellence
by the Mental Health Association in Genesee County

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Michael Flem-
ing upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Constance
E. Miller Award of Excellence by the Mental Health Association in Gene-
see County, to be celebrated at its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 5,
2015, at Terry Hills Restaurant & Banquet Facility, Batavia, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The Constance E. Miller Award of Excellence is given annually
to an individual or an organization which demonstrates a commitment to
excellence pertinent to the delivery and/or advocacy of quality communi-
ty-based mental health services within Genesee County; and
WHEREAS, Michael Fleming has truly been the voice of mental health in
Genesee County for the past several years; as Single Point of Account-
ability (SPOA) Director for the Mental Health Association in Genesee
County, his advocacy for the mentally ill has taken him above and beyond
the call of duty, time and time again; and
WHEREAS, Best known at the Mental Health Association in Genesee County
for his knowledge associated with the intricacies of Single Point of
Accountability meetings, Michael Fleming has proven to be a strong team
leader; and
WHEREAS, Michael Fleming's ability to follow through with multiple
agencies, both within and outside of Genesee County, has been instru-
mental in obtaining the required information and service providers to
meet even the basic needs of individuals yearning for assistance and in
need of advocacy; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Mental Health Association in Genesee Coun-
ty is in direct correlation to the efforts of Michael Fleming, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all of his endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
community he serves; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Michael Fleming has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michael Fleming upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Constance E. Miller Award of Excellence by the Mental Health
Association in Genesee County; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael Fleming.
