LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending John Bouck upon the occasion of his
designation as a 2015 Inductee into the Auburn Alumni Hall of
Distinction, on May 15, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
John Bouck upon the occasion of his designation as a 2015 Inductee into
the Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction, to be celebrated at an Induction
Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Auburn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, The Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction was established in
2012, by the Auburn Education Foundation to recognize, honor and cele-
brate graduates who have distinguished themselves through outstanding
academic, professional, or civic achievements and to inspire current
students to pursue a path towards personal success; and
WHEREAS, A man of singular merit, John Bouck, Auburn High Class of
1959, has continually demonstrated tremendous competence, extraordinary
intelligence and diligent leadership in his unwavering service to both
his community and his profession and consequently has been selected for
this most prestigious honor; and
WHEREAS, A life-long resident of the Auburn area, John Bouck graduated
from Auburn East High School in 1959; and
WHEREAS, The youngest person in New York State to earn a Real Estate
License, John Bouck became the owner/operator of Bouck Real Estate, the
oldest real estate firm in the county with the same continuous owner;
and
WHEREAS, John Bouck specializes in the sale and leasing of commercial
and industrial real estate and development; over the past several years,
he has been instrumental in finding locations for over 73 businesses in
Auburn and throughout Central New York; and
WHEREAS, John Bouck has written a number of pieces for the local news-
papers, including a real estate column in the CITIZEN; in addition, he
has authored two booklets, SIMPLIFIED GUIDE TO VALUING REAL ESTATE and A
GUIDE TO OPENING YOUR OWN BUSINESS; and
WHEREAS, As a licensed Real Estate Appraiser, John Bouck has testified
as an expert witness in several courts; he also has served as President
of the Cayuga County Association of Realtors, and has held the position
of Adjunct Professor at Cayuga Community College, Auburn, New York,
where he taught the state required courses for real estate brokers,
salespeople, and appraisers; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his real estate activities, John Bouck is a
licensed commercial pilot, as well as a F.A.A. Certified Flight Instruc-
tor; he has been a volunteer Pilot for Angel Flight Northeast, flying
medical patients to hospitals throughout the Northeast, and founded the
General Robert L. Scott Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron of Auburn; and
WHEREAS, John Bouck has written several aviation articles for FLYING
MAGAZINE, as well as composed a monthly column providing aviation travel
information in an on-line aviation magazine, OVER THE AIRWAVES; for the
last 13 years, he was the host of "WMBO Forum" on WMBO/WRLX radio; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community, John Bouck has served on numerous
boards and committees, in various capacities, including President of
East Hill Family Medical, Chairman of the Town of Sennett Assessment
Board of Review, former Town Justice of the Town of Sennett, President
of the Sennett Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, John Bouck is the past President of the Auburn
Jaycees, and is the Founder of the Logan Jaycees, a Jaycee Chapter with-
in the walls of Auburn Correctional Facility; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, the former Connie
Coye, his three children, and eight grandchildren, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend John Bouck upon the occasion of his designation as a 2015 Induc-
tee into the Auburn Alumni Hall of Distinction, on May 15, 2015; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John Bouck.
