LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Allan Itzkowitz upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by Temple B'Nai Torah on May 3, 2015

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Allan Itzkowitz has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Allan Itzkow-
itz upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
Temple B'Nai Torah, to be celebrated at its Annual Israel Bond Breakfast
on Sunday, May 3, 2015, in Wantagh, New York; and
WHEREAS, Allan Itzkowitz has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of the Wantagh area, Allan Itzkowitz
attended Sunrise Park School and Wellington C. Mepham High School; and
WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Allan Itzkowitz owned and oper-
ated a successful Pharmacy in Wantagh; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to the community, Allan Itzkowitz was active in
Legacy Suburban Temple, and continues to be active in Temple B'Nai
Torah; he served twice as President of the Chai Club, an organization
for those who have been temple members for 18 years or more, and recent-
ly returned to the Chai Club Board, serving as its Recording Secretary;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, Allan Itzkowitz is an active volunteer of the
Temple B'Nai Torah Bingo program; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Allan Itzkowitz has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 61 years, Miriam,
and their two children, Susan and Gary, as well as their two grandchil-
dren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice
in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Allan Itzkowitz has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Allan Itzkowitz upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Temple B'Nai Torah on May 3, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Allan Itzkowitz.
