LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Gervic
Paints & Decorating Center on April 21, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which contribute to the
economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 60th Anniversary of Gervic Paints & Decorating Center, to be
celebrated at a home show on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at The Castle Fun
Center, Chester, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1955, Gerald and Victor Sardella opened Gervic Paints &
Decorating Center in their parents' one-car garage in Middletown, New
York; 60 years later, the enterprise has grown to two locations, a
17,000 square foot store on East Main Street, Wallkill, New York, and a
2,100 square foot shop off Route 17M, Monroe, New York; and
WHEREAS, Today, the business is operated by Terry Sardella Worden,
daughter of the late Gerald Sardella, and Victor Sardella, son of Victor
Sardella, who recently celebrated his 85th birthday; in addition,
several members of the family work at the two stores, including Gerald
Sardella and his son, Gerald III, Paul Sardella, Rhonda Lake, and
Janelle Worden; and
WHEREAS, Each family member has an important role in the continuing
success of Gervic Paints & Decorating Center; Victor Sardella manages
the entire business, Terry Sardella Worden is in charge of the decorat-
ing section, Gerald Sardella and Gerald Sardella III oversee the automo-
tive department, Janelle Worden promotes the business on social media,
Paul Sardella solicits outside sales, and Rhonda Lake supervises the
back office, truly making it a family-run entity; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the sparkling
successes it has experienced thus far; and
WHEREAS, Businesses such as Gervic Paints & Decorating Center exert a
strong, positive influence on the communities they serve and are a
crucial element in the economy of New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Gervic Paints & Decorating Center on
April 21, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Terry Sardella Worden and Victor Sardella, co-owners, Gervic
Paints & Decorating Center.
