LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Barry K. Davis upon the occasion of
receiving the 2015 K-12 Building Principal of the Year Award from the
School Administrators Association of New York State

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Barry K. Davis
upon the occasion of receiving the 2015 K-12 Building Principal of the
Year Award from the School Administrators Association of New York State;
and
WHEREAS, Before becoming principal at Lyme Central School, Barry K.
Davis served as a social studies teacher for 22 years, educating
students in grades 7 through 12; and
WHEREAS, With a passion for both teaching and for improving educa-
tional opportunities for students at Lyme Central School, Barry K. Davis
has served as the school's principal for the past eight years; and
WHEREAS, In the role of principal, Barry K. Davis has worked tireless-
ly to support both teachers and students, making an extra effort to
foster partnerships with local organizations, such as the Watertown
Lyric Theater and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County, to
help enhance learning opportunities; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career at Lyme Central School, Barry K. Davis
has worked tirelessly to improve the district and has earned the reputa-
tion of being an educator who genuinely cares about his students and
faculty, and values their success above all else; and
WHEREAS, An individual who has truly gone above and beyond to serve
students, faculty and families, Barry K. Davis has made a difference not
only at Lyme Central School, but in the North Country region as a whole;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Barry K. Davis upon the occasion of receiving the 2015 K-12 Build-
ing Principal of the Year Award from the School Administrators Associ-
ation of New York State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barry K. Davis.
