LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Father Dominick F. Cutrone upon the
occasion of celebrating the 60th Anniversary of his Ordination to the
Priesthood on June 7, 2015
WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State is nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish them-
selves and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preemi-
nence of service; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Father Dominick F. Cutrone upon the occasion of celebrating the 60th
Anniversary of his Ordination to be celebrated at a reception held in
his honor on Sunday, June 7, 2015, in the Father Cutrone Gym at Our Lady
of Grace Parish, Gravesend, Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 24, 1930, Dominick F. Cutrone was raised
alongside his brother and sister in Brooklyn, and graduated from Holy
Trinity Diocesan High School, Hicksville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dominick F. Cutrone furthered his education by earning his
Bachelor's degree from St. John's College, Jamaica, New York, as well as
a Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance from Fordham University,
New York City; and
WHEREAS, On June 4, 1955, Dominick F. Cutrone was ordained into the
Priesthood at St. James Cathedral, Brooklyn, and celebrated his first
Mass on June 5, 1955, at St. Catherine of Genoa, Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, Prior to serving the congregation of Our Lady of Grace,
Father Dominick F. Cutrone successfully completed several assignments at
various churches, including St. Bernadette, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, St.
Finbar and St. Agnes; in 1983, he was selected to lead his current
parish; and
WHEREAS, As the dedicated and loving Pastor of Our Lady of Grace,
Father Dominick F. Cutrone is responsible for the spiritual guidance of
his parishioners and for the welfare of all the priests and religious
individuals under his care; in addition, he organizes the day-to-day
operations of running the parish, its buildings, equipment, employees
and all fiscal responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Father Dominick F. Cutrone has been
a member of Community Board No. 15 since 1988; he was elected to the
Presbyterial Council in 1992, and continues to meet with Bishop Daily
each month to advise him about current events regarding the parish; and
WHEREAS, For the past 60 years, Father Dominick F. Cutrone has
rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service to the Catholic
Church, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his congre-
gation, diocese, and community; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as spiritual leader of Our Lady of Grace
Parish, Father Dominick F. Cutrone serves with loyalty, honor and
distinction, and is governed by a keen sense of duty and always shows a
unique grasp of human problems in his official acts; and
WHEREAS, Father Dominick F. Cutrone has brought to his ministry an
overwhelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and
enlightenment in conducting his administrative and spiritual duties,
while always displaying the highest standards of personal and profes-
sional integrity and dedication; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished man of God has always given enlightenment,
guidance and wisdom to the many entrusted to his care and has adminis-
tered abundantly and unstintingly to the spiritual and corporal needs of
all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Father Dominick F. Cutrone upon the occasion of celebrating the
60th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood to be celebrated on
June 7, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Father Dominick F. Cutrone.
