LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Danielle Geraldi-Samara upon the
occasion of her induction into the Fontbonne Academy Hall of Fame on May
6, 2015

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Danielle Geraldi-Samara upon the occasion of her induction into the
Fontbonne Academy Hall of Fame, to be celebrated at its Fleur de Lys
Dinner Dance, on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Gargiulo's Restaurant,
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Fontbonne Hall Academy, an all-girls, private, Roman Catholic
high school in Brooklyn, New York, was established in 1937, by the
Sisters of St. Joseph, and is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese
of Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Geraldi-Samara, the daughter of Joseph and Angel
Geraldi, was born and raised in Brooklyn, and is a 1994 graduate of
Fontbonne Hall Academy; while a student at the Academy, she was a
participant in many extra-curricular activities, including Religious
Activities, and Student Activities Council (SAC), where she held the
positions of Sophomore Representative, Social Chairperson, and School
President; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian of her class, Danielle Geraldi-Samara was
inducted into the National Honor Society, and was the recipient of the
General Excellence Medal; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduating, Danielle Geraldi-Samara attended Georgetown
University, receiving her Bachelor's degree in Biology and a dual minor
in Philosophy and Theology; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Geraldi-Samara returned to her alma mater to teach
biology, chemistry and AP biology for the 1998-1999 school year; she
then was employed at the State University of New York at Syracuse
Medical School from 1999-2003; and
WHEREAS, From 2003-2004, Danielle Geraldi-Samara served her internship
in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn; she then
completed her residency in neurology at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New
York City; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Danielle Geraldi-Samara was selected to the
position of Chief Resident, a title she held from 2006-2007; she then
completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Mount Sinai Hospi-
tal in 2008; and
WHEREAS, Today, Danielle Geraldi-Samara practices general neurology
with a focus on neuromuscular disease and electromyography at the Luth-
eran Medical Center in Brooklyn; she is in the midst of spearheading the
second officially designated neuropathy clinic in all of Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Ibrahim Samara,
and her two daughters, Jenine and Lilianne, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Danielle Geraldi-Samara upon the occasion of her induction
into the Fontbonne Academy Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Danielle Geraldi-Samara.
