LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Patricka Elliott upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the Albany County Executive's 2015
Volunteer Award on April 20, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Patricka Elliott upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Albany County Executive's 2015 Volunteer Award which was celebrated
on Monday, April 20, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive's Volunteer Award recognizes
outstanding residents who selflessly give of themselves for others, and
demonstrate an exceptional commitment to service, helping to make the
community a better place to live; Patricka Elliott is one such individ-
ual; and
WHEREAS, Extremely passionate in helping others, Patricka Elliott of
Albany, New York, serves as an advocate, coach, and board member; and
WHEREAS, Patricka Elliott plays a vital role in coaching the Albany
Junior Pee Wee Cheerleaders; she teaches the fundamentals of cheerlead-
ing, and has done a superb job in guiding, molding and inspiring the
team members toward their life goals; and
WHEREAS, Recently, Patricka Elliott joined the Board of the YMCA of
the Capital Region, which will enable her to have a positive impact on
the lives of women in the area; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Patricka Elliott has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Patricka Elliott has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Patricka Elliott upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of the Albany County Executive's 2015 Volunteer Award; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patricka Elliott.
