LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Richard Glisson upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Richard Glisson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Richard Glisson, Director of Marketing at Monticello Casino
and Raceway, Empire Resorts, was selected for this esteemed recognition
for being hardworking, ambitious, and creative; and
WHEREAS, Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Richard Glisson moved to
Sullivan County in 2010; he holds both a bachelor's and master's degree
in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi, and studied
Casino Marketing at Tulane University; and
WHEREAS, Prior to residing in Sullivan County, Richard Glisson was
responsible for establishing the marketing department at the Rivers
Casino in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; he earned this esteemed position
from his gaming career in the south, where he rose through the ranks
serving as a media buyer at Pearl River Resort, and then a marketing
coordinator on a river boat casino for Horizons Resort & Casinos; and
WHEREAS, Today, 34-year-old Richard Glisson is the Director of Market-
ing at Monticello Casino and Raceway, Empire Resorts, where he relishes
helping his guests have an immense amount of fun and creating world
class experiences; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community as well as his profession, Richard
Glisson serves as a Board member of the Sullivan County Visitors Associ-
ation, member of the Town of Mamakating Planning Board, and member of
the Yankee Lake Home Owners Association; and
WHEREAS, Richard Glisson embraces his journey of moving to Sullivan
County five years ago to embark on a career opportunity, fully confident
he will continue to enjoy the sparkling successes he has experienced
thus far; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Richard Glisson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Richard Glisson.
