LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Megan Kitson upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Megan Kitson upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Megan Kitson, Registered Nurse at Roscoe Regional Rehabili-
tation and Residential Health Care Facility, was selected for this
esteemed recognition for being hardworking, ambitious, and creative; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Callicoon, New York, Megan Kitson graduated from
Delaware Valley Central School in 1998, and continued her education at
Mount Saint Mary's College in Newburgh, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 2012, Megan Kitson returned to school, earning a nursing
degree from Sullivan County Community College; and
WHEREAS, For more than two years, Megan Kitson has served as a Regis-
tered Nurse at Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and Residential Health
Care Facility, a privately-run facility which offers long-term care with
access to skilled nursing, as well as respite services for family care-
givers who need a short break from intensive caregiving; and
WHEREAS, As a Registered Nurse, Megan Kitson's responsibilities
include IV care, wound care, physical therapy, medication adminis-
tration, and much more; and
WHEREAS, Megan Kitson relishes being a part of a community based
atmosphere, and rehabilitating her patients to give them back their
independence; she spends her time and energies providing exemplary
service to those in need and has gotten to know many of her residents as
if they were family; and
WHEREAS, According to Megan Kitson, Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and
Residential Health Care is more than just a nursing home, it's a commu-
nity institution which substantially contributes to exceptional senior
care and vital services to meet the healthcare needs of its patients;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Megan Kitson upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Megan Kitson.
