LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Executive Director Peter Ingellis upon
the occasion of his retirement after six years of distinguished service
to the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Executive Director Peter Ingellis upon the occasion of his retirement
after six years of distinguished service to the New Paltz Regional Cham-
ber of Commerce; he officially retired on Friday, December 12, 2014; and
WHEREAS, For the past six years, Peter Ingellis rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the New Paltz Regional Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man began his career with the New Paltz
Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2008 after the commercial cleaning
company he was managing became a member; he accepted the position of
Membership Director in March 2013; and
WHEREAS, Peter Ingellis was appointed in November of 2013 as Interim
President of the Chamber, and in June 2014, he accepted his current
position as Executive Director; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Peter Ingellis was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; he
actively strove to understand the concerns of local business owners and
the community at large, and advocated for common concerns; and
WHEREAS, Peter Ingellis was known for his excellent leadership in
strengthening ties between the Chamber and many philanthropic organiza-
tions; he assisted the New Paltz Community Foundation in its largest
direct appeal to rehabilitate Family of New Paltz facilities and
arranged for Family of New Paltz to become full members of the New Paltz
Chamber of Commerce at no charge; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with the New Paltz Regional Chamber of
Commerce, Peter Ingellis worked tirelessly to improve the local business
climate and is credited with helping to raise the profile of New Paltz
both regionally and nationally; he has earned the admiration, esteem and
affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Executive Director Peter Ingellis upon the occasion of his
retirement after six years of distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Peter Ingellis.
