LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Patty Stolfo upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Good Apple Award by the Sisters of Gamma
Delta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of Women
Educators

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Patty Stolfo has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and compassion and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Patty Stolfo
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Good Apple
Award by the Sisters of Gamma Delta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma
International Society of Women Educators to be celebrated at a ceremony
on Thursday, May 21, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Sisters of Gamma Delta Chapter of the Delta
Kappa Gamma International Society of Women Educators recognize a person
working in our schools or community who goes above and beyond the call
of duty to improve the educational environment for our students; and
WHEREAS, For the past seven years, Patty Stolfo has served as a Secre-
tary in the Student Services Department at Veronica E. Connor Middle
School; and
WHEREAS, On a daily basis, this esteemed woman deftly handled such
trying situations as fretful children confused over their schedules,
concerned parents needing to gather work for their ailing children,
crying students who were feeling unloved, and hungry students who had
forgotten their lunch or lunch money; and
WHEREAS, Patty Stolfo was often the first face many parents and
students saw as they walked apprehensively into the office; her calm
demeanor reassured many, be it an adult or child, at school when they
needed it the most; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Patty Stolfo was an integral part of the Life
Skills Class Connor Cafe, an entrepreneurial project to enrich social
skills and introduce the concept of money; her patience, encouragement
and smile showed each of these special needs students that they were
indeed the "apple of her eye" and very important to her indeed; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Patty Stolfo has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Patty Stolfo has displayed through-
out her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patty Stolfo upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Good Apple Award by the Sisters of Gamma Delta Chapter of the Delta
Kappa Gamma International Society of Women Educators; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably, engrossed, be
transmitted to Patty Stolfo.
