LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jason Brzoska upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2015 Academy Award by the Bet Shraga
Hebrew Academy of the Capital District
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its citi-
zenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jason Brzoska upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2015 Academy Award by the Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy of the Capital
District to be celebrated at a dinner on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at
Congregation Agudat Achim, Niskayuna, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is bestowed upon individuals who exem-
plify the mission of the Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy of the Capital
District through intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and love of
learning while celebrating the richness of their Jewish traditions; and
WHEREAS, Jason Brzoska has shown brightly in his respective field,
while maintaining a sense of community, service, and integrity, as well
as an ongoing commitment to the Jewish foundation instilled in them by
the Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy; and
WHEREAS, A 1994 graduate of the Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy of the Capi-
tal District, Jason Brzoska furthered his education at the State Univer-
sity of New York at Albany; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduating, Jason Brzoska served as the CEO/co-Director
of MyJewishLearning.com, the leading transdenominational website of
Jewish information and education; in addition, he was the Operations
Director for the Bronfman Youth Fellowships in Israel; and
WHEREAS, Today, Jason Brzoska holds the position of CEO/President of
Practical Development Solutions, a consulting firm which provides
comprehensive assistance to not-for-profit and mission-based for-profit
organizations; in addition, he is a certified Leadership and Executive
Coach through the International Coach Federation; and
WHEREAS, Renowned and well-respected in his field, Jason Brzoska has
been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including his
selection to the Professional Leaders Project in 2004, and a Jewish
scholarship to the Gestalt International Study Center's "Leadership in
the 21st Century," a prestigious executive training program; and
WHEREAS, Jason Brzoska has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Jason Brzoska has served for five
years on the United Jewish Appeal (UJA)/Federation of New York's Caring
Commission; in this capacity, he participated in the allocation of a
significant amount of funds to various agencies throughout the Greater
New York Area and Israel; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, this remarkable man is a member of numerous UJA
tasks forces and committees, and the Board of Directors for JChoice.org,
as well as the Advisory Board for the Center for Jewish Studies at his
alma mater; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jason Brzoska has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Jason Brzoska has displayed through-
out his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jason Brzoska upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2015 Academy Award by the Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy of the Capital
District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jason Brzoska.
