LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Steven B. Bouchey upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Spirit of Community Award by the
Commission on Economic Opportunity on May 21, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Steven B. Bouchey upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Spirit of Community Award by the Commission on Economic Opportunity,
to be celebrated at its Community Action Luncheon on Thursday, May 21,
2015, at Hilton Garden Inn, Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is given to an individual or business
that truly embodies the essence of Community Action, whose passionate
support of and dedication to the Commission on Economic Opportunity
(CEO) and the community as a whole is unparalleled; Steven B. Bouchey is
such an individual; and
WHEREAS, As President and CEO of Bouchey Financial Group, Ltd., Steven
B. Bouchey is responsible for working with individuals, families and
businesses on their financial planning and investment management as well
as providing the strategic direction for the firm and leading the firm's
investment committee; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man has helped manage clients' wealth since
1986, and is a well-known speaker and often quoted media source on
current topics in the investment field; he is also the founding partner
of Bouchey & Clarke Benefits, Inc. which provides group benefits and
consulting services for businesses throughout New York State; and
WHEREAS, Steven B. Bouchey achieved the professional designation of
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from The College of Financial Planning
in Denver, Colorado in 1990; he has actively pursued his education ever
since, participating in professional study programs and completing
advanced courses in the investment and financial planning field; and
WHEREAS, Active within the community, Steven B. Bouchey has served on
numerous boards, some of which include: Seton Health Board of Trustees
(now St. Peters Health Partners), Past Chairman of Seton Health Founda-
tion; Former Vice President for the Albany Symphony Orchestra's Board of
Directors, Board of Director for Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of
Commerce, past board member of the Diocese of Albany Foundation Advisory
Committee and served on the Board of Directors and Professional Advisory
Committee of the Community of the Greater Capital Region; he was also on
the Board and is a current member of the Financial Planning Association
(FPA); and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Steven B. Bouchey has displayed through-
out his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Steven B. Bouchey upon the occasion of his designation as recipi-
ent of the Spirit of Community Award by the Commission on Economic
Opportunity on May 21, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Steven B. Bouchey.
