LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Celine Coy upon the occasion of being
named an Outstanding Educator by the Capital District YMCA on May 14,
2015
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Celine Coy upon the occasion of being named an Outstanding Educator by
the Capital District YMCA to be celebrated at its 10th Annual Student
and Educator Awards Breakfast Reception, on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at
the Sarazen Student Union, Siena College, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, This commendation honors high school students and educators
who demonstrate outstanding service to their schools and communities
while embracing the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and
responsibility; and
WHEREAS, Known for her patience, compassion, hard work, and efficien-
cy, Celine Coy has held the position of Administrative
Assistant/Receptionist at Academy of the Holy Names for 17 years; and
WHEREAS, During the summer, Celine Coy leads the Summer Service Immer-
sion Program, which carefully selects and prepares six senior girls to
travel to the St. Francis Inn in Kensington, Pennsylvania, on a communi-
ty service initiative; they spend a week serving and spending time with
those less fortunate, and cleaning the Inn; and
WHEREAS, A selfless individual, Celine Coy also serves as the Coach of
both the Junior Varsity soccer team, and the sixth and seventh grade
basketball teams, and was Assistant Coach of the Junior Varsity Basket-
ball Team; she is committed to promoting good sportsmanship and charac-
ter, and instilling valuable life lessons that go beyond the courts and
playing field; and
WHEREAS, The future success of our State and Nation is dependent upon
individuals such as Celine Coy, who dedicate their lives to nurturing
our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Celine Coy upon the occasion of being named an Outstanding Educa-
tor by the Capital District YMCA on May 14, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Celine Coy.
