LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Marsh-Link-Pollock Farm upon
the occasion of its being placed on the National Register of Historic
Places on December 22, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the preser-
vation of historical landmarks which served to enhance the growth of the
State of New York, ensuring that the complete history of our State and
Nation is shared with present and future generations of citizens; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Marsh-Link-Pollock Farm in Brunswick, New York, upon the occa-
sion of it being placed on the National Register of Historic Places;
this momentous event was celebrated on Monday, December 22, 2014; and
WHEREAS, The National Register of Historic Places is the nation's
official list of buildings, structures, objects, sites, and districts
worthy of preservation for their significance in American history,
architecture, archaeology, and culture; and
WHEREAS, The National Register was established by the NATIONAL HISTOR-
IC PRESERVATION ACT OF 1966 to ensure that as a matter of public policy,
properties significant in national, state, and local history are consid-
ered in the planning of federal undertakings, and to encourage historic
preservation initiatives by state and local governments and the private
sector; and
WHEREAS, The Marsh-Link-Pollock Farmstead includes a well-preserved
1840s farmhouse; it is a significant local resource that represents
Brunswick's agrarian past; and
WHEREAS, The National Register of Historic Places understands that New
York State's agricultural industry is part of the foundation upon which
our distinct American heritage is built; the Marsh-Link-Pollock Farm is
a lasting example of our Nation's important farming legacy; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Marsh-Link-Pollock Farm, in Brunswick, New York, upon
the occasion of its being placed on the National Register of Historic
Places; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Marsh-Link-Pollock Farm.
