LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Bob Dimke upon the occasion of his
induction into the 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward Institute

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals whose exceptional athletic prowess leaves an enduring legacy in
their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Bob Dimke upon the occasion of his induction into the 2014 Athletic
Hall of Fame by the SS Seward Institute, which was celebrated at its
Induction Ceremony on September 27, 2014; and
WHEREAS, An important figure in the history of the SS Seward Insti-
tute, Bob Dimke, Class of 1950, had an outstanding high school athletic
career; he played varsity baseball for four years, and both basketball
and soccer for three years; he was also a member of track and field for
two years; and
WHEREAS, Bob Dimke was instrumental in contributing to the success of
his fellow teammates, and played an exceptional defense in the aforemen-
tioned sports; and
WHEREAS, Throughout Bob Dimke's illustrious high school sports career,
his coach, Coach Paul, was a motivating life mentor who Bob credits for
guiding, molding and inspiring him toward his goals; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduating from high school, Bob Dimke attended King's
College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor's
degree in accounting in 1955; and
WHEREAS, Bob Dimke was licensed by the Internal Revenue Service as an
enrolled agent from 1971 until he retired in 2011; and
WHEREAS, For 40 years, Bob Dimke served as a Tax Accountant in both
Bennington, Vermont, and Hinesberg, Vermont; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Bob Dimke served as a school board member,
and volunteered his time to coaching in the Pop Warner Football League;
and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Anita, who feels priv-
ileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Athletes and coaches such as Bob Dimke provide a tremendous
service to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of
student-athletes in their athletic journeys and ensuring their success
in their future years; and
WHEREAS, Bob Dimke has clearly been an inspiration to the youth of the
SS Seward Institute, as well as to the community-at-large, and accord-
ingly merits recognition and applause for his impressive dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our students
and our schools; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Bob Dimke upon the occasion of his induction into the 2014
Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward Institute; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bob Dimke.
