LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of 2015 Sheriff George L.
Infante Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement Award
WHEREAS, The quality and sanctity of community life are cherished
values, worthy of safeguarding, and this Legislative Body is moved to
honor those individuals who serve to preserve and protect such values,
lauding particularly their unwavering courage and dedication in the
daily performance of their duties; and
WHEREAS, It is appropriate to recognize and commend such outstanding
law enforcement officers as Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick for their
valued contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Detective
Sergeant Adam Hornick upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2015 Sheriff George L. Infante Outstanding Achievement in Law
Enforcement Award by Albany County Stop DWI Program and the Michele E.
Martin Memorial Trust during the 2015 Ceremony of Remembrance in obser-
vance of National Crime Victims' Rights Week at the Albany County Court-
house Rotunda, on Thursday, Arpril 23, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Albany County Stop DWI Program and the Michele
E. Martin Memorial Trust holds this special ceremony to pay tribute to
victims of crime, and to highlight the positive efforts of local law
enforcement and community agencies in their support of crime victims;
and
WHEREAS, Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick received the esteemed Sheriff
George L. Infante Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement Award for
his exemplary dedication and commitment to the needs of victims and
their families; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Bethlehem Police Department since 2001, Adam
Hornick began his career assigned to the Patrol Division; he was
promoted to Detective in 2006 where he was assigned to the Detective
Office in the Special Services Division, and was promoted a second time
in 2013 to the the esteemed rank of Detective Sergeant; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick serves as the
First Line Supervisor overseeing the Detective Office and Family
Services Unit where he continually displays sensitivity and compassion
while working with crime victims on what is often the most difficult day
of their lives; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick goes
above and beyond the call of duty, providing extra support to such
vulnerable individuals as children, seniors, animals, and people with
disabilities; and
WHEREAS, In keeping with the finest traditions of the Bethlehem Police
Department, Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick has distinguished himself by
his tireless commitment on behalf of the community he so faithfully and
courageously serves; and
WHEREAS, The dedicated efforts of public servants who selflessly
devote their lives to the preservation of order and the protection of
others are worthy of the full praise of this Legislative Body and the
people of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when law
enforcement officers of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought
to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the
citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick upon the occasion of his desig-
nation as recipient of the Sheriff George L. Infante Outstanding
Achievement in Law Enforcement Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick.
