LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior
Citizens Center, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2014 Compassionate Care Award by Counseling Care & Services
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizens Center, Inc. upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2014 Compassionate Care
Award by Counseling Care & Services which was celebrated at its Care
Awards Presentation and Reception on Friday, November 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, For nearly 50 years, the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizens
Center, Inc. has been an invaluable provider of compassionate and
professional care to citizens of Cohoes, New York; since 1967, the
center has been delivering programs and services to older adults and
their caregivers in Cohoes and its surrounding Albany County communi-
ties; and
WHEREAS, The Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizens Center, Inc. offers
programs in-home, off-site, and at the center; its current programs
include model social adult day services, health and recreation, congre-
gate dining, home delivered meals, and fitness opportunities within the
community through partnerships with the Cohoes Community Center and
other local area businesses; and
WHEREAS, This worthy organization's mission is to promote the dignity
of older adults living in its community, and to provide the programs and
services needed to support living healthy and productive lives; this
mission has been carried out by dedicated professional and caring staff
members, volunteers, and community leaders who believe in the center and
its commitment to senior citizens in the Cohoes community; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, the quality of life for many senior citizens
has been immeasurably enhanced by the dedication of the professionals at
the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizens Center, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizens Center, Inc. upon
the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2014 Compassionate
Care Award by Counseling Care & Services; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizens Center, Inc.
