LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Thomas Hulle upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the
Orange-Ulster BOCES on May 1, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Thomas Hulle
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES celebrated at its Second
Annual Awards Breakfast, on May 1, 2015, at Kuhl's Highland House,
Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hulle has distinguished himself as a young man of
superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of
excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility
rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A Senior at Minisink Valley High School, Slate Hill, New
York, Thomas Hulle has plans to major in Music Industry at The College
of Saint Rose, Albany, New York, after graduation; and
WHEREAS, A multi-talented musician, Thomas Hulle plays various instru-
ments in numerous bands, including French horn in both the Symphonic
Band and Wind Ensemble; in addition, he serves as a Drum Major for the
Minisink Band; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hulle has performed in four All-County events, and
participated in the NYSSMA Solos Festival every year, earning spots in
two Area-All State performing groups; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the well-being of his community, Thomas Hulle is
helping the Minisink Chorus raise funds for the Goshen, New York, Relay
for Life event in June; throughout the winter months, he volunteers with
the Warming Station at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, Middletown,
New York; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Thomas Hulle
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hulle may stand with pride in his achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hulle represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thomas Hulle upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and to
wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas Hulle.
