LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Paul Jones upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the
Orange-Ulster BOCES on May 1, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Paul Jones
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Senior Scholar
Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES celebrated at its Second
Annual Awards Breakfast, on May 1, 2015, at Kuhl's Highland House,
Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes outstanding high school
students for their accomplishments and/or performances in the arts,
including fine arts, theater, and music; and
WHEREAS, Paul Jones has distinguished himself as a young man of super-
lative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of excel-
lence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely
achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, A Senior at George F. Baker High School, Tuxedo Park, New
York, Paul Jones has plans to join the United States Marine Corps after
graduating; he will be attending Boot Camp at Parris Island, South Caro-
lina; and
WHEREAS, Paul Jones is both an Actor and a Technical Specialist in the
George F. Baker Drama Club; in addition, he is a dedicated member of the
school choir; and
WHEREAS, Known as a young man to call when volunteers are needed, Paul
Jones has assisted with various community building projects, and served
as a stand-in Cavalier for local ballet dancers during both recitals and
the annual performance of THE NUTCRACKER; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Paul Jones has
brought honor to his family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Paul Jones may stand with pride in his achievements, experi-
encing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he continues
his education; and
WHEREAS, Paul Jones represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Paul Jones upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Senior Scholar Humanities Award by the Orange-Ulster BOCES, and to
wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Paul Jones.
