LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Aliyah Donadelle upon the occasion of
being named the 2015 Rochester Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Aliyah Donadelle upon the occasion of being named the 2015 Rochester
Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys &
Girls Club member can receive; the nomination recognizes outstanding
contributions to a member's family, school, community and Boys & Girls
Club, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles; honorees
such as Aliyah Donadelle are shining examples and living proof that
great futures start at Boys & Girls Clubs; and
WHEREAS, A truly hardworking and inspiring young woman, Aliyah Dona-
delle has been a steadfast and dedicated member of the Boys & Girls Club
of Rochester, New York for 11 years; and
WHEREAS, Aliyah Donadelle is an avid member within the SMART GIRLS
Club where she helps organize and leads discussions about the inequal-
ities which impact women's health and social standing; she also
expresses her passion for cooking at the New York Wine and Culinary Camp
offered by the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester throughout the school year
and summer; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this exemplary young woman participates in the
Mustard Seed Program where she helps to cook and feed the homeless; her
spirit and mentality is what defines her, and all those with whom she
comes in contact with embrace the unconditional love she spreads through
her service; and
WHEREAS, Active within the community, Aliyah Donadelle is employed as
a Lifeguard at the Bay View YMCA and also serves as a volunteer life-
guard at Camp Gorham and Camp DayDreams; and
WHEREAS, Aliyah Donadelle is tirelessly committed to her academics,
and holds a 3.80 GPA; she is part of an orchestra and jazz band, and
plays the clarinet, bass clarinet, baritone and tenor saxophone;
furthermore, after attending a forensic science camp and criminal
justice camp at Our Lady of Mercy, she plans to pursue a bachelor's
degree in both fields; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Aliyah Donadelle upon the occasion of being named the 2015 Roches-
ter Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year, and to wish to her continued
success in all of her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Aliyah Donadelle.
