LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Sergeant David J. Frasca upon the
occasion of his retirement after 32 years of distinguished service to
the Ontario County Sheriff's Office on June 12, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor
those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote themselves to
public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing
for the care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their exem-
plary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sergeant David
J. Frasca upon the occasion of his retirement after 32 years of distin-
guished service to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, to be celebrated
at a retirement party held in his honor on Friday, June 12, 2015, at
Club 86, Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Born on May 6, 1960, David J. Frasca proudly served his coun-
try as a member of the United States Marine Corps for four years; in
March of 1983, he joined the Ontario County Sheriff's Department, serv-
ing as a Road Patrol Officer; and
WHEREAS, After over three decades of outstanding service, David J.
Frasca will officially retire from the Department, holding the esteemed
rank of Road Patrol Sergeant; he will continue to work part-time as an
Officer for the Village of Phelps, New York; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his stellar career, Sergeant David J. Frasca has
dedicated himself to numerous local causes to the benefit of his commu-
nity, serving with extraordinary diligence and dedication to Ontario
County and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant David J. Frasca is most proud of his leadership
roles with the youth of Ontario County and for organizing several public
safety initiatives, including Stop DWI and F.A.I.R., a program combating
underage drinking and sales of alcohol to minors; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this remarkable man helped develop the Do The
Right Thing Program, which encourages young people to make the right
choices; he has been actively involved in fundraising efforts for the
American Cancer Society, as well as volunteering his time to teach CPR
for the American Heart Association; and
WHEREAS, In 2007, Sergeant David J. Frasca was named the Ontario Coun-
ty Sheriff's Office Deputy of the Year; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of more than 20 years,
Jean, and their five children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body that those dedi-
cated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the preser-
vation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due full
praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sergeant David J. Frasca upon the occasion of his retirement
after 32 years of distinguished service to the Ontario County Sheriff's
Office; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sergeant David J. Frasca.
