LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION memorializing Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to
proclaim September 2015, as Chiropractic Health Month in the State of
New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize official
months that are set aside to increase awareness of health related
matters that affect the lives of citizens of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to memorial-
ize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim September 2015, as Chiropractic
Health Month in the State of New York, in conjunction with the obser-
vance of National Chiropractic Health Month; and
WHEREAS, The Chiropractic profession was founded on September 18,
1895, and has been a licensed occupation in the State of New York since
1963; and
WHEREAS, Chiropractors are trained healthcare professionals who use a
variety of drug free, non-surgical treatments for numerous neuro-muscu-
loskeletal conditions; and
WHEREAS, Chiropractors encourage patients to participate actively in
their healthcare to promote a healthy and fit society; and
WHEREAS, The Chiropractic profession has contributed greatly to the
health and well-being of millions of New Yorkers; and
WHEREAS, Chiropractors in the State of New York are dedicated to
promoting and protecting patient rights, the practice of Chiropractic
medicine, and the fostering of its growth through ongoing training and a
commitment to safe and ethical practice; and
WHEREAS, Currently, there are over 5,000 chiropractors licensed to
practice in the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim September 2015, as
Chiropractic Health Month in the State of New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of New
York; the New York State Chiropractic Association; and the New York
Chiropractic Council.
