LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Christine Cary upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Mary E. Brizzell Building a Senior
Community Award by the Colonie Senior Service Centers

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Christine Cary has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Christine Cary
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Mary E. Briz-
zell Building a Senior Community Award by the Colonie Senior Service
Centers; this momentous occasion was celebrated at its 13th Annual
Founders' Awards Dinner on Monday, October 20, 2014; and
WHEREAS, The Colonie Senior Service Centers (CSSC) is a nonprofit,
community-based senior service organization serving seniors and their
families throughout the Capital Region for the past 30 years; each year
the Founders' Awards Dinner honors six businesses and community leaders
who reflect the commitment, vision and leadership exemplified by the
founders of CSSC; and
WHEREAS, Christine Cary has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Director of the Town of Colonie Senior Resources Department,
Christine Cary has worked in the aging field for nearly 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Christine Cary has made it her mission to help seniors and
their caregivers through the aging journey, as well as to provide and
connect seniors with the resources they need to age successfully; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Christine Cary has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Christine Cary has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Christine Cary upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Mary E. Brizzell Building a Senior Community Award by the Colonie
Senior Service Centers; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Christine Cary.
